To succeed in life even in material world, courage is the most important factor. A courageous person sticks to his decision even in the face of storms and winds of opposition. For a spiritual aspirant courage is extremely important along with sincerity. The path of attaining God is called razor sharp path. A lot of patience is required. One may keep on practicing for years without any results only with patience and courage one can follow the commands of his guru and resist the devil in mind.
Many times it happens that when a spiritual aspirant is on the threshold of a breakdown, the vital quality of courage keeps him going on. Maya is very powerful various demons in the form of anger, ahamkara, greed, ego, and lust may try to pull the aspirant down. It is not easy to get rid of these vices, which are a part and parcel of one’s personality for a long time. Worldly attachments are very strong and deep-rooted. Many people think that by renouncing the world, putting on geru cloth will fasten their spiritual progress. But alas! It is far from true. Living in the ashrams, they create another world for themselves where anger, ego, jealousy and hatred thrive and flourish. Going to caves also doe not help one to get rid of vices. When none is around, who will irritate you? How can you learn to control your anger, hatred and jealousy? And thus this type of so-called sadhus only remain geru clad and do not possess any humility, or true Adhyatmic Shakti. And their inner greed and ahamkara cannot be concealed for long time from the public. People do not listen to such nakli sadhus.
Spirituality is the only path to attain eternal bliss and happiness, lot of virtues have to be cultivated one by one. It is not easy. It takes a lot of time to eradicate one vice and replace it with a virtue. God helps at each step but one needs to increase ones mental balance and strength bit by bit. It is not easy to face failure in any field of life. One has to collect one’s wits with determination and courage, get up and try again and again till success comes.
