SATSANG WITH SRI SWAMI JI
IMPORTANCE OF A KANYA (GIRL)
On the last day of culmination of 12 year Rajsuya yajna; all of us had achance to capture some pearls & gems which fell from the mouth of a great saint of the present century. In his words- I need not tell Indians that Kanya is sakar (which has a shape & form) rupa of Devi Ma. As shivalinga is worshipped for Lord Shiva; shaligram (a type of stone) is worshipped for Lord Vishnu; similarly Kanya is worshipped as an embodiment of Devi ma. Formless worship is not possible for every one. Kanya is a powerful channelof Divine energy.
Virgin Mary was also a Kanya. She was the mother of Christ & is worshipped by all Christians. In Devi bhagwat Kanya worship is given animportant place. In India we worship Kanya in Navratri as Devi twice a year.It is a good social tradition. Even in Nepal Kanya Puja is quite common. There is dual buddhi(intelligence) in man. He can’t worship formless Goddess. Till 13 years Kanya is a good conductor of divine energy. As electricity can only pass through a good conductor like copper or aluminum; similarly divine energy can pass easily through Kanyas.
We have created a mandla of Devi Ma. Devi ma has no form. Like gold has no form of its own. Soil has no form of its own. Gold can be melted and shaped according to our requirement. Similarly all forms are of Devi.
In Kanya Bhoj, when you feed the Kanyas, feel that you are feeding the Devi Ma. We decorate them with new dresses and ornaments. After Kanyas ate the food, the rest of the food is eaten as Prasadam of Devi Ma. Through these Kanyas you can easily evoke the grace of Devi Ma.
Due to dowry system, girls are killed even before birth in many countries. She is considered a burden in many families, especially in the poor families; she is deprived of good food, education etc. This message of Sri Swami Ji is very significant for the present times. In the Parivarjak Car I read this statement, ‘a house without a Kanya is the poorest.’
