Paramhansa Niranjanananda Saraswati came to Munger Ashram at the tender age of 4 years. Once Sri Swami Ji (Swami Satyananda) went on a tour. He asked Swami Niranjan to take care of the garden. When he came back after a few days, he found that all plants were dying. Sri Swami Ji asked him whether he had taken care of the plants or not?
Swami Niranjan said, “I used to wipe dust from each leaf daily. He said, “If there was an insect, I used to remove that also.” Sri Swami Ji asked, “Did you water the plants?” He said, “No.” Then Sri Swami Ji explained that watering the roots of the plants was essential for their survival.
We all need to water our soul in the form of worship, chanting of mantras and selfless service. Our soul is getting weaker and weaker in the absence of this water.
