A TRUE STORY
Last month, I met a child who has inspired me greatly by his selflessness, integrity, honesty and intelligence. Since October 2006, I am writing articles on various topics related to yoga i.e.mainly making people aware of their own inner shortcoming, weaknesses. Yoga is not only a bundle of asnas and pranayams as ignorantly many people think. Yoga is a complete science which aims at all-round development of individual’s personality. Yoga, if practiced regularly with faith and determination helps in physical, mental and spiritual development of an individual.
And only yoga is a science which is capable of eradicatingvarious evils from the depth of our personality. Since my main aim is to spread this message to people, I have come across a lot of people, who have joined me in this ‘seva’. But I never ever imagined that a boy who is studying in class seven will help me in this seva so diligently! He not only is typing my articles on the computer, but also teaching me the basics of the computer. The best part is that he is very happy doing it and realizes fully well that I desperately need his help.
Such selflessness! At such a young age! He has come to his Masi’s (maternal aunt) home to spend his summer vacations. In spite of late-night parties, which are a regular feature, he gets upearly to attend the yoga classes in the early morning. I cam see him yawning in the beginning of the class, but by sheer gist of his determination and will power he pushes himself. Such diligence! At such a young age. He is extremely, intelligent and sharp. He is taking maths and physics (class 9) coaching to improve on the subjects during his vacations. And after his maths he spares half an hour to teach me computers. The other students are more interested in play and their own enjoyment but he! Resists the temptation to run off with them.
How many of us as adults possess such determination? Such diligence? And will power? With my experience in life, I can see a great future for him. He has come to my heart like an angel! Where ever he goes or lives, I will always remember him and use his example to inspire others; both adults and children. I wish him good luck from the deepest core of my heart. May god bless him with success, happiness and prosperity in life! I feel blessed that god has given me an opportunity to meet him, learn from him.
