Urine incontinence is leakage of urine accidentally in between coughing, laughing, walking or just after passing urine. Due to weakening of muscles of pelvic floor, this problem is caused both in males & females. In India, this problem is not talked openly so many people are forced to live with it feeling uncomfortable due to constant fear of getting wet. one in three women is affected by this problem. Education of women though has made them bold enough to discuss this problem with doctors. In India the super specialisation of urogynaecology is rare, so most of the women are forced to live with this problem. On advice of a gyanaecologist in India, I consulted a urogynaecologist in U.S.A. She referred me to a physiotherapist (who specialised in pelvic floor area exercises) after a thorough checkup for my muscles of this area had become weak due to ageing. I did all the exercises regularly with sincerety along with all my yogasnas. The physiotherapist was very happy with my regularity & sincerety. She suggested to practise 'Mool Bandh' to improve the muscle strength of pelvic floor, regular meditation to keep me relaxed & free of anxiety. The main exercises are 'Kegel's Exercises' which she taught me very gently. In a book 'Yoga for women'(Bihar School of Yoga) I had read about 100 times contraction & dilation of pelvic muscles & Nauka Asna. I did practise nauka asna but in the beginning 100 times contraction & dilation was not possible due to tiredness of the muscles. With faith I kept on practising. Now I can do the contraction & dilation 100 times easily twice a day. The use of dilators also helped in strengthing the muscles. After nearly 4 months my problem has been cured by 99%. Both my doctor & physiotherapist are extremely happy with my recovery. This problem had made me miserable & I had started to feel that I will have to live with it all my life. A few people told me that it might worsen with ageing. I had seen my aunt facing this problem when she was 70 yrs old. It kept on haunting me. My positive mind set, faith in God & support of my family & medical personnel enabled me to overcome this problem. All those who are suffering from such problems can derive inspiration from this writing. My heartiest good wishes to all of them.
